Welcome to MM 101!

Updated August 30, 2006

This seminar will be held at Heartland Conference Center, over the weekend of 8-10 September 2006, at Trask Lodge, which can house 14 people.  *** REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED ***

The cost per person will be $80, which includes lodging (Friday and Saturday nights) and meals (Saturday and Sunday). (An optional Friday dinner at 6:30 p.m. costing $9.50 is also available.) We have reserved a very nice meeting room - Cray Lounge - with air conditioning, a restroom, and high-speed Wi-Fi for Saturday and Sunday. So if you have a laptop and/or a GPS unit, bring them and their cables with you (we have a few club GPS “loaners”, and rental GPS units will be available for $10 from Heartland Center).

A basic familiarity with OCAD 8 mapping software will be assumed; this is THE ESSENTIAL TOOL for creating Orienteering maps. An online “OCAD 101” tutorial is available - for those who have downloaded the free OCAD 8 Demo .

Many of the maps and documents in this area are in Adobe PDF file format. If you cannot view these, you will need to install Adobe Reader by clicking on the button in the lower-left corner of this screen.
