Bonner Springs Park Meet Report
August 13, 2009

The summer Sprint at Bonner Springs Park was a great success in two ways.  First, an unusual mix of about 25 Possums of all sizes and experience showed up to run on a very pleasant summer afternoon.  Second, the single 3km Course was easy to design and set in the wide open spaces of this unique Park.
Many experienced Possum run times were very close spanning 16-20 minutes total.  Several first time runners took longer but came back enthusiastic.  Although Bonner Springs Park is so open most of the route choice was limited to deciding on which side of the Lake to run and how to avoid some small woods and high grass, a few Control locations proved tricky.  Sometimes every tree looks the same.
Our next Event at wonderfully open Bonner Springs Park this November will be a night Meet.  The present plan is to use the entire Park for a 1 hour Score-O using 24 Controls.
